Cost Analyst

Location: Madison, Wisconsin (Partial Remote)
Employment Type: Contract

Role Overview

We are seeking a Cost Analyst responsible for the implementation and execution of project controls for strategic construction projects.This role manages the scheduling and cost functions from development through close-out, including progress measurement, cost forecasting, and invoice reviews. The position is largely remote, requiring the ability to work independently, with occasional visits to the office and job sites.

KeyResponsibilities

Prepare and maintain a detailed project estimate and ongoing forecast.
Perform monthly accruals and contribute to journal entries.
Interface with project teams, corporate accounting, and finance on all project execution items.
Act as the subject matter expert on project controls and contractual terms.
Perform detailed schedule reviews and analysis to monitor compliance and progress.
Advise the project team on performance concerns and recommend solutions.
Interface with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure data accuracy.
Provide guidance on the use of the company's Document Management System (Unifier).

Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in business, technical, engineering, construction, project management, or a related area is required.

Experience: A minimum of 10 years of work experience is required. This must include familiarity with forecasting, accruals, journal entries, utility accounting practices, and earned value.

Technical Skills: The ability to work independently is required as the position is largely remote.

Preferred Qualifications

At least five years of utility experience.
Experience in power generation or processing plants.
Familiarity with Primavera P6.
Experience with Unifier.
Located within 60 miles of Madison, WI.

Compensation & Benefits

A pay rate of $40.00 to $60.00 per hour is offered for this position.
