Position OverviewA growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join its finance team. This role will support cost accounting and general ledger functions, ensuring accurate tracking of product costs, inventory activity, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with job or product costing, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of core accounting principles.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and monitor product and job costing to ensure accurate cost allocationPrepare and post journal entries related to cost accounting and inventory transactionsPerform balance sheet reconciliations , including inventory and cost-related accountsAssist with the month-end close process , including reviewing trial balances and supporting schedulesSupport inventory tracking and variance analysis , identifying discrepancies and trendsPrepare bank and account reconciliations and investigate differences as neededWork closely with operations and finance teams to ensure accurate cost reportingAssist with financial reporting and internal management reportingSupport internal and external audit requests by providing documentation and analysisIdentify opportunities to improve cost tracking and accounting processesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field2–4 years of accounting experience , preferably in manufacturing or a cost-focused roleUnderstanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, or job costing principlesExperience with general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliationsStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting or ERP systemsStrong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environmentStrong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionallyPreferred QualificationsExperience working in manufacturing, distribution, or product-based environmentsExposure to inventory management systems or ERP platforms#J-18808-Ljbffr
