Job Details

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Cost Accountant, your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

1. Analyzing and reporting on various cost elements such as labor, material, and overhead.
2. Managing and maintaining the company's fixed assets register, including depreciation schedules.
3. Assisting with the preparation of the monthly financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow.
4. Reconciling inventory accounts to the general ledger and preparing detailed reports to help management understand variances.
5. Working closely with the operations team to understand and manage product costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead.
6. Assisting with the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting exercises.
7. Identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities across the organization.
8. Ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
9. Participating in internal and external audits as required.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or CMA designation is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a cost accounting role, with a strong understanding of fixed asset accounting and bill of materials.
3. Proficiency in General Ledger (GL) and accruals.
4. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and produce meaningful insights.
5. Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work.
6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with accounting software is a plus.
8. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
9. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound decisions.
10. Proven track record of cost reduction and process improvement.
