Responsibilities:
The COS Material Handler/Driver is responsible for receiving, filling, and shipping products accurately and efficiently, as well as ensuring the safe transporting and arrival of products, in a timely manner, to our customers and other store locations. May be assigned all or some of the various warehouse job functions including but not limited to receiving, order fulfillment, product picking, wrapping and packing, stock replenishment, customer will call, and inventory cycle counts.
Driving Responsibilities
- Customer Delivery — Provide timely, accurate deliveries and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Vehicle Operation — Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with DOT, state, federal, and company standards.
- Loading & Verification — Load/unload trucks; verify deliveries against sales and transfer orders.
- Route Management — Follow schedules, deadlines, and delivery instructions; maintain communication with supervisors.
- Documentation — Complete manifests, logs, return paperwork, and digital records via iPad or manual forms.
- Vehicle Care — Perform routine inspections, report issues, maintain cleanliness, and return vehicles fueled and secured.
- Other Duties — Support additional warehouse or delivery tasks as needed.
Warehouse Responsibilities
- Product Receiving — Unload trucks by forklift, pallet jack, or by hand; inspect freight; verify quantities; document discrepancies.
- Stocking & Replenishment — Put away inventory, fill bins, rotate stock, maintain reserve and will‑call areas.
- Order Fulfillment — Pick, pack, palletize, wrap, and prepare shipments; scan items; complete required paperwork.
- Labeling & Accuracy — Ensure all products have correct barcodes and stock numbers; print and apply labels; resolve discrepancies.
- Equipment Operation — Safely operate pallet jacks, walkie riders, and forklifts; assist with equipment upkeep.
- Safety & Compliance — Maintain a clean work area, follow safety rules, wear PPE, and keep required certifications current.

Education and/or Experience:
- Required:
- High School Diploma/GED; 1+ years of truck driving experience (26 ft vehicle or larger) or 1 year operating Johnstone equipment/vehicles under supervision; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience operating forklift and other warehouse equipment safely and competently.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Must have a valid drivers’ license with a driving record indicating a safe driving history acceptable to the company; must remain eligible at all times to drive a commercial motor vehicle under applicable state and federal laws and FMCSA regulations.
- Forklift certification required, or willingness to obtain on the job.
