Job Description:

Title:                  Corrosion Testing Specialist
Location:          Jackson, MI 49201, USA
Shift:                 1st Shift 8AM-4: 30PM
Duration:          0 –12 Month
Pay:                   $25.00/Hour  

Job Duties (Responsibilities):

 
  • Performing physical testing according to established test methods, procedures, and instructions with high accuracy
  • Preparing, planning, and executing testing projects while meeting standard specifications
  • Evaluating and analyzing testing results to support quality decisions
  • Preparing and maintaining all required laboratory documentation and records
  • Maintaining, calibrating, validating, and verifying laboratory equipment and logs
  • Conducting preventive maintenance and troubleshooting laboratory issues as needed
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized laboratory work environment
  • Monitoring laboratory supplies and ensuring availability for testing activities
  • Assisting with long-term testing and supporting Quality Control lab activities
  • Participating in cross-training across lab functions, equipment, and procedures
  • Supporting laboratory accreditation activities and compliance initiatives
  • Assisting in method validation activities including gage R&R and measurement uncertainty
  • Communicating project-related information with cross-functional teams
  • Supporting continuous improvement programs and initiatives
  • Following safety procedures and Responsible Care principles consistently

 

Qualifications (Requirements):
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry (0–3 years’experience) OR Bachelor’s with 8–16 chemistry credits
  • 1+ year of work or lab experience (college or professional)
  • Experience in manufacturing or laboratory environment (preferred)
  • Knowledge of wet chemistry techniques such as titration, pH, conductivity, salinity, density, and volumetric/gravimetric analysis
  • Awareness of analytical instrumentation principles (e.G., spectroscopy)
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 17025 and ISO 14001
  • Basic understanding of industry standards (ASTM, ISO, MIL)
  • Knowledge of acids, bases, petroleum products, and solubility principles
  • Familiarity with product applications like coolants, cleaners, phosphates, and surface treatments
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Lotus Notes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with good time management skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge and consistent use of PPE and safety procedures
