Responsibilities
DESCRIPTION: Delivers technical training on behalf of corporate partners. Organizes and conducts classroom and lab activities related to corporate automotive technical training courses. This position will be tied to specific training agreements between Seminole State College and a specific corporate partner. This is a one- year position contingent on funding.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Delivers automotive technical training courses as assigned. 2. Prepares classroom, vehicles and workstations for training courses. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. 3. Manages supplies as needed on a timely basis. 4. Prepares training materials for student use. 5. Supports preparation and release of monthly training schedules. 6. Manages classroom maintenance. 7. Maintains training fleet (e.g., setting 'malfunctions' and resetting).8. Facilitates student evaluations and tests. 9. Travels when required by corporate partner for up to two (2) weeks per month for special assignments. 10. Performs other site and position specific responsibilities as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution. 2. ASE Master's Certification. 3. At least three (3) years' General Motors experience and technical training certifications.4. Valid Florida driver's license or a valid license from another state with the ability to obtain a Florida license within 30 days. License must have less than six (6) points and requires submission of a three year driver's report from the Department of Motor Vehicles.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Experience as an automotive training instructor. 2. Certified L1 Advanced Engine Performance Specialist. KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS: 1. Understanding of and commitment to the use of instructional technology. 2. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.3. Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.4. Commitment to working in a multi-cultural environment.5. Ability to interact effectively with students, faculty and staff.6. Ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT and SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:1. Work in a classroom/laboratory and automotive environment. 2. Travel required at least two (2) weeks per month.3. Conditions of Employment
