The Role

HII - Americas largest shipbuilder and a global, all-domain defense provider - is currently seeking a Senior Counsel 1 (Trade Compliance) at our Newport News, Virginia office. This candidate will report directly to HII's Chief Compliance Officer. The ideal candidate has extremely strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. With divisional focus and responsibilities, the candidate will serve as the key node between business elements and the Enterprise Trade Compliance Program and needs the confidence and skills to operate independently while communicating effectively simultaneously with the Chief Compliance Officer and senior division leaders.

 

Must Have:

• Juris Doctor Law degree • 6 years of experience

 

Nice to Have:

• 4 years of International Trade Compliance Experience • Internal Investigation Experience • Defense Industry and/or USG Experience • Government Contracts Experience • In-House Legal Experience • Active Security Clearance
