We’re adding a new Safety Manager to our corporate Safety & Risk Mitigation team to lead safety programs for designated sites and promote a culture of safety across PCSI. You'll provide trusted safety guidance to operations leaders across multiple locations by overseeing safety compliance activities and developing safety training for employees. You’ll guide risk and injury prevention efforts, support investigations when incidents occur, and collaborate with site leaders on correcting risks.
 
As part of the corporate Safety & Risk Mitigation team, you’ll report to the Director of Safety & Risk Mitigation and provide leadership and support to other safety team members in the field. We’re looking for a safety professional with experience in General Industry or Construction who can support the development of corporate safety programs while advising operations leaders and helping field safety team members grow in their roles.
 

How You’ll Work:

  • Based primarily at the Corporate Headquarters office in south Austin, TX. 
  • Monday-Friday hybrid schedule, up to 2 days per week remote.
  • Some travel to worksite locations, up to 25%.
  • Must be located in the Austin, TX metro area.
  • Must be a US citizen to access military installations requiring security clearance.

What You'll Do as Corporate Safety Manager:

Corporate Safety & Site Leadership:

  • Lead safety functions across designated work sites and support the Corporate Safety & Risk Mitigation team.
  • Partner with site Operations leaders and Safety team members to strengthen safety practices, reduce risk, and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Provide leadership, technical guidance, and professional development to assigned safety team members.
  • Collaborate with departments across PCSI to support safety-related needs.

Compliance, Reporting, & Data:

  • Provide guidance on PCSI safety policies, OSHA, EPA, EM 385-1-1, and other applicable safety and environmental standards.
  • Support development, implementation, and maintenance of safety policies, procedures, and site-specific plans.
  • Prepare or review Accident Prevention Plans, Activity Hazard Analyses/Job Hazard Analyses, Health and Safety Plans, and related safety documentation.
  • Track safety data, compliance activities, OSHA recordkeeping, and performance metrics to identify trends and support proactive improvements.

Inspections & Incident Response:

  • Conduct safety, first aid, environmental, and field inspections to identify and address unsafe conditions.
  • Lead or support investigations of actual and potential incidents, including root cause analysis and corrective action follow-up.
  • Support injury prevention, medical, and industrial hygiene initiatives in partnership with Operations.

Safety Training & Awareness:

  • Develop, facilitate, and advise on safety training for site leaders and employees.
  • Create and maintain training materials that support safe work practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Support safety awareness initiatives, including PCSI SAFE Week.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience leading enforcement of a safety program, or equivalent combination of safety-related education and experience.
  • Experience with either General Industry or Construction safety regulations.
  • Experience leading or supporting employees through training and performance feedback.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree, preferably safety-related.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification preferred, OSHA 501 or 500 Certification a plus.
  • Experience working with NFPA and related environmental laws.
  • Experience with EM-385 regulations.
  • Experience with SharePoint.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Requires knowledge of PC functions and software.
  • Advanced MS Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint experience required. Must be able to create graphs and charts, embed videos and other graphics into reports and presentations.
  • Ability to interpret and write policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and contribute as part of a team.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to pass criminal, drug, financial, and driving screening.
  • May need to have the ability to legally drive a company vehicle.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position regularly, up to 80% of the time.
  • Ability to travel up 25% of the time, by either ground or air.
  • Must be a US citizen with ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
