FULL DESCRIPTION:
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Lead payroll processing for a workforce of over 1,000 employees across union and non-union groups.
- Administer weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles, including earnings, deductions, benefits, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and tax regulations, as well as labor agreements.
- Manage multi-state payroll tax reconciliations and ensure timely remittance of payroll-related taxes.
- Coordinate quarterly and annual payroll reporting requirements, including year-end tax statements (W-2s).
- Provide payroll data and documentation for audits, insurance reviews, and labor contract obligations.
- Serve as the escalation point for payroll questions and discrepancies.
The selected candidate will also possess:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools with strong Excel expertise.
- In-depth working knowledge of payroll taxation, accounting standards, certified payroll, prevailing wage rules, union payroll, CBAs, and wage garnishments.
- Ability to assess complex payroll challenges and implement corrective actions.
- Proven experience leading payroll teams and setting operational priorities.
- Skilled in coaching and developing staff in payroll procedures, compliance practices, and internal controls.
- Strong numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and clear communication skills.
Salary Range: $100,000 to $130,000/year
