Position Overview

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Mailroom Clerk to manage the receipt, sorting, and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail and packages for our corporate office in downtown Chicago. You will play a key role in supporting daily business operations by ensuring all correspondence and packages reach their intended recipients efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mail Management: Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages to the appropriate departments or individuals.
  • Outgoing Shipments: Prepare outgoing mail and packages, including weighing items, calculating postage, and ensuring proper labeling.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of incoming and outgoing deliveries, tracking weights, sender details, and receipt times.
  • Mailroom Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked mailroom environment; manage inventory of mailing supplies (stamps, envelopes, labels, etc.).
  • Customer Support: Assist employees with mail-related questions and coordinate with shipping/courier services as needed.
Requirements

  • Experience: Previous mailroom experience is required.
  • Skills: strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and proficiency with basic computer systems.
  • Professionalism: Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive documents appropriately.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
