Description Amazon is seeking a Corporate Counsel to support our North America Stores legal team in the dynamic space of social media advertising and performance marketing. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of digital advertising, negotiating complex agreements with social media platforms while navigating privacy policies and emerging AI regulations. You'll serve as primary legal counsel to the business, including tech and business development teams, to support innovative advertising and marketing products and creator programs. Key job responsibilities - Providing day-to-day legal support to business teams and developing strategies for handling legal issues in creative, efficient, and business-centric ways. - Helping your business teams launch new features and product categories. - Serving as lead counsel in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements. - Resolving issues arising in existing commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries. A day in the life You'll start your day reviewing a business proposal for a new advertising measurement model, then join a call with business development to discuss the latest creator program proposal. Mid-morning brings a privacy consultation about data sharing guidelines for a new attribution model. After lunch, you'll draft provisions for a new social media integration agreement. You'll close the day advising product teams on compliance approaches for AI-generated advertising content, collaborating with colleagues who share your passion for solving novel legal challenges in digital advertising. About the team You'll join the North America Stores legal team supporting the Performance Marketing and Creators organization, a collaborative group at the intersection of advertising innovation and customer trust. Our team works on some of Amazon's most visible customer touchpoints, ensuring our social media presence and performance marketing efforts meet the highest legal standards. We pride ourselves on being strategic business partners who understand technology and move quickly in a fast-paced environment. You'll work alongside privacy specialists, product counsels, and commercial attorneys who are passionate about enabling business growth while protecting customer interests in an evolving digital landscape. Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of legal experience - Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent Preferred Qualifications - Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work - Experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts - Experience handling legal matters in privacy laws, or advising on third-party data sharing arrangements - Knowledge of advertising regulations, consumer protection laws, and FTC compliance requirements - Understanding of emerging AI regulations - Strong business judgment with ability to provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice in fast-moving environments - Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with cross-functional business teams - Experience advising on e-commerce, retail, or technology-related legal matters Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
