Location: Salt Lake City, UT — This is a hybrid role with regular on-site presence in Salt Lake City. Candidates must be local to Salt Lake City or the surrounding area, as this role is not remote.
Note: Candidates must have a J.D., active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar, and directly relevant corporate legal experience. Strong experience with employment law, commercial contracting, government contracting, export controls, and regulatory compliance is highly preferred.

Job Description
- Advise business leaders and functional teams on employment law, compliance, commercial contracts, intellectual property, and general corporate legal matters
- Counsel HR and management on employee relations, workplace policies, investigations, accommodations, leaves, discipline, separations, wage/hour compliance, and employment disputes
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements including customer contracts, supplier agreements, NDAs, licensing agreements, service agreements, consulting agreements, and strategic partnership agreements
- Support government contracting and regulatory compliance matters involving export controls, defense trade controls, procurement, audits, disclosures, and related requirements
- Advise on intellectual property ownership, licensing, portfolio management, technology transfer, and protection strategies
- Work with outside counsel on litigation, employment disputes, IP matters, regulatory issues, and specialized legal projects
- Assist with corporate governance, subsidiary management, board-related matters, legal training, M&A, strategic transactions, and other business-critical initiatives
- Build strong legal processes, templates, playbooks, and practical tools that help the business operate efficiently and consistently
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
- 5+ years of directly relevant legal experience; 6+ years strongly preferred
- Significant employment law counseling and compliance experience
- Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation experience
- Experience with government contracting, export controls, defense trade compliance, EAR, ITAR, DFARS, or similar regulatory frameworks
- Experience advising companies in highly regulated industries such as aerospace, defense, advanced technology, communications, manufacturing, or unmanned systems is strongly preferred
- IP, FAA, FCC, aviation compliance, spectrum licensing, or technology-related regulatory experience is a plus
- Strong business judgment, communication skills, negotiation ability, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment
