Company Summary

Enerfab has 125 years of experience, offering fabrication and construction capabilities to a wide variety of customers across the chemical, food & beverage, oil & gas, heavy industrial, data center, and power industries. Founded in 1901, our company began making sealants and lacquers — including a patented formula for brewer’s pitch — for beer tanks and vessels. Over the last century, our expanded capabilities, safety record, and commitment to quality have made Enerfab an industry leader in shop fabrication, field erection, and industrial services. Now operating under Quanta Services (NYSE: PWR), Enerfab combines operational agility and craftsmanship with the backing of a Fortune 200 infrastructure powerhouse.

Position Purpose

The Corporate Controller leads Enerfab’s accounting department and serves as the primary technical accounting and financial control leader. Following our acquisition by Quanta Services, this position is critical in ensuring full compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls, public company reporting standards, and US GAAP. The Corporate Controller oversees month-end close, financial reporting packages, union and non-union payroll operations, treasury management, internal controls, and project accounting, serving as the primary financial liaison to parent company finance leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Public Company Financial Reporting & Integration

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes, preparing timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and Quanta Services corporate reporting schedules.

  • Prepare corporate consolidation packages and supplemental financial schedules required for SEC filings (10-Q / 10-K disclosures) submitted to parent company leadership.

  • Ensure proper application of complex accounting standards, specifically ASC 606 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers / Percentage-of-Completion accounting) for long-term construction and fabrication contracts.

Internal Controls & SOX Compliance

  • Establish, document, and enforce internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) to maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Section 404 regulations.

  • Identify operational and financial risk areas, designing remediation plans for any control deficiencies or process gaps.

  • Coordinate with internal and external audit teams (including Quanta corporate risk management and third-party auditors) to facilitate testing, field visits, and compliance reviews.

Financial Operations, Payroll & Union Compliance

  • Direct day-to-day accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Job Costing / Project Accounting.

  • Oversee complex payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing for both salaried non-union personnel and large, multi-state craft union workforces.

  • Ensure union compliance and reporting, including certified payrolls, fringe benefit fund remittances, multi-employer pension plan reporting, and union audit support.

  • Supervise and mentor the corporate accounting and payroll teams, fostering continuous professional development, high standards of accuracy, and operational accountability.

Treasury Management & Governance

  • Lead corporate treasury management functions, including daily cash positioning, short- and long-term cash flow forecasting, working capital optimization, and banking relationship management.

  • Align treasury operations with Quanta Services corporate treasury policies, managing cash concentration, credit facilities, and intercompany funding mechanisms.

  • Support tax planning and compliance in coordination with corporate tax advisors and parent company requirements (state, local, sales/use, and federal tax packages).

  • Maintain company financial policies and operating procedures, updating documentation regularly to reflect changing regulatory and parent company requirements.

Qualifications

Required Education & Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Audit Manager role.

  • Direct public company reporting experience (or management experience within a subsidiary of a publicly traded parent company).

  • Hands-on expertise with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and internal control implementations.

  • Strong background in construction, heavy industrial, engineering, or shop fabrication accounting, including deep familiarity with WIP schedules and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition (ASC 606).

  • Experience overseeing union payroll operations, certified payroll reporting, and trade union compliance within a multi-state construction environment.

Technical & Leadership Competencies:

  • Advanced proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., Viewpoint, Oracle, SAP, Deltek) and advanced Excel functionality.

  • Deep knowledge of corporate treasury principles, cash flow modeling, and capital management.

  • Exceptional technical knowledge of US GAAP, financial statement compilation, and SEC reporting requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with C-suite executives, parent company leadership, and operational team members.
