Core Java Developer (Server Side)
Location:New York, NY (Hybrid)
Contract:12 months
Pay Rate:$75/hr (W2)

Overview:
Seeking an experienced Core Java Developer to design, build, and enhance high-performance Market Risk applications in a distributed, cloud-based environment. The role focuses on reengineering risk calculation engines using Java microservices and big data technologies, supporting mission-critical P&L and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance Market Risk applications in a distributed architecture

  • Design and implement solutions using SOA, Agile, and DevOps practices

  • Collaborate with global teams and business partners to deliver scalable solutions

  • Optimize performance for high-volume data processing and reduced runtimes

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of server-side Core Java, Spring, and RDBMS experience

  • Strong SQL, Linux, and relational data modeling expertise

  • Experience with Apache Spark and distributed data processing

  • Solid understanding of OOP, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns

  • Hands-on experience with multithreading, concurrency, and unit testing (JUnit)

  • Scripting skills (Shell/Perl/Python) and Agile delivery experience

  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills

Nice to Have:

  • Risk or financial systems development experience

  • Automated testing experience
