Core Engineer

Location: San Francisco, California (On-site)

Compensation:USD $150,000–$220,000 base salary + 0.15%–0.20% equity
Work Authorization: Open to US citizens and current US visa holders.

About the Opportunity

We're partnering with an innovative, YC-backed startup building an AI-native platform to modernize defense, aerospace, and industrial supply chains. Their mission is to replace decades-old legacy systems with intelligent software that powers the next generation of industrial operations.

They're looking for a highly motivated Core Engineer who enjoys building products from scratch, shipping quickly, and taking ownership in a fast-paced startup environment.

What You'll Do

• Design and build scalable full-stack applications from the ground up.
• Develop backend services using TypeScript and modern software architecture principles.
• Build intuitive frontend experiences using Svelte, React, or Next.js.
• Design, optimize, and maintain PostgreSQL databases and complex SQL queries.
• Integrate modern software with complex legacy systems.
• Collaborate directly with founders to rapidly ship product features.
• Own technical decisions from architecture through production deployment.

What We're Looking For

• Strong experience with TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Experience with React, Next.js, or Svelte.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience working with PostgreSQL.
• Demonstrated experience building and shipping production-ready applications.
• A portfolio, GitHub repository, personal projects, or live applications that showcase end-to-end ownership.
• Strong system design and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Nice to Have

• Startup or YC-backed company experience.
• Experience building products from zero to production.
• Experience integrating with legacy systems.
• Interest in AI-powered products.
• Background or interest in defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or industrial technology.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: USD $150,000–$220,000
• Equity: 0.15%–0.20%

Working Model

• Full-time position.
• 100% on-site in San Francisco, California.
• Candidates must be willing to work from the office full-time.
