Job Overview

Shriners Children''s Greenville is seeking a Coordinator, Therapies to join our Rehab department. The Coordinator works directly with insurance companies, therapy providers, and patients in order to have optimal patient care, including patient scheduling and intake, while meeting compliance standards to maximize claim processing and payment.

Responsibilities

Tracks patients to determine continued and appropriate insurance eligibility and benefit periodReviews pre-authorization intake information to identify potential resource costs, and communicate findings to therapy care team;Verify patient's current insurance to ensure continuity of coverage

Identifies opportunities to enhance reimbursementMaintains an accurate list of all therapy evaluations and assessments for the correct reference dates throughout patients care, to ensure the accurate and timely submission of the required re- assessmentsCollaborates with RIC to confirm signed plans of care

Track therapy authorization times and keep staff aware of pending recertification requirements, facilitating any payor specific requests for information

Facilitates the process associated with intake activity such as order entry, establishment of correct encounterMonitors the order queue to ensure timely and correct scheduling of orders per service line and therapist availability

Maintains all reports and transmission data in a systematic format and stores in a safe, locked area, keeping information confidential in accordance with HIPAAImplements all required forms, procedures and processes relative to job responsibilities
