Position: Coordinator, Sports Information and Marketing Division: Intercollegiate Athletics Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000 FLSA Classification: Exempt Position Type/Duration: Full-time/12 months Position Schedule: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday (extended hours, evenings, weekends, and travel required) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Media Relations & Communications Serve as the primary contact for local, regional, and national media covering athletic programs Write and distribute press releases, game recaps, previews, and feature stories Coordinate media interviews with student-athletes, coaches, and staff Manage credentialing for home events Content Creation & Digital Media Oversee and maintain the athletics website with up-to-date rosters, schedules, and news Manage social media accounts and develop strategies to increase engagement and brand visibility Produce multimedia content including photos, videos, and graphics Ensure consistent branding across all platforms Game Day Operations Supervise statistical crews and ensure accurate live stats during competitions Ability to keep statistics for all sports offered at Voorhees University Coordinate public address scripts and in-game promotions Compile and distribute post-game statistics and reports Publications & Records Produce media guides, game programs, and annual reports Maintain historical records, statistics, and archives for all sports Ensure compliance with university, conference and NAIA reporting requirements Strategic Communications Develop and implement communication strategies to enhance the visibility of athletic programs Promote student-athlete achievements both athletically and academically Support marketing, fundraising, and fan engagement initiatives Supervision & Collaboration Supervise interns, and student workers Collaborate with marketing, compliance, and development staff Work closely with coaches and administrators to align messaging EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, sports management, or related field REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 2-5 years of experience in athletic communications or sports media Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills Knowledge of NAIA rules and statistical reporting systems (e.g., StatCrew, LiveStats, PrestoSports. Etc. Experience with social media platforms and content management systems PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working in a collegiate athletic department Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro) Familiarity with website management platforms (e.g., SIDEARM Sports) Skills & Competencies Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Creativity in storytelling and digital engagement Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and travel as needed Working Conditions Frequent evening and weekend hours during athletic seasons Travel may be required for postseason events and tournaments Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
