Overview
POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Sanitation Coordinator plans, organizes and coordinates the activities of the Sanitation department within the manufacturing plant. This includes, but is not limited to; cleaning and sanitizing operations, scheduling and documenting Master Sanitation Schedule items, setting up environmental testing, ordering and managing supply inventory for operations and sanitation and managing the hazardous waste program. The Sanitation coordinator works closely with Sanitation, Maintenance, Production, Quality, Planning and Finance management, including coordinating and managing outside vendor services in execution of duties.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Develop, plan, and coordinate the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), this includes the following:
Update MSS daily
Verify MSS task documentation is completed, accurate, and filed appropriately
Review equipment cleaning frequency with Supervisor
Plan, coordinate and schedule MSS tasks with all affected departments
Ensure MSS tasks are completed on time
Manage Hazardous Waste Program, this includes the following:
Ensure all manifest documentation is properly filled out and filled with appropriate agencies
Coordinate pick up and disposal of hazardous waste.
Maintain and control hazardous waste areas
Ensure hazardous waste is properly stored and labeled.
Train plant personnel on proper handling and labeling of Hazard waste
Assist safety on inspecting hazard waste storage areas for compliance
Manage and oversee the Chemical Control program. This includes the following:
Work with contracted chemical supplier to:
Ensure plant is using proper chemical handling techniques
Review and evaluate existing and potential new chemicals for effectiveness.
Provide chemical and cleaning training programs for sanitation team
Coordinate and participate in chemical quarterly Titration verification
Work with quality control and assurance for implementing any new chemicals within plant
Read chemical Safety Data Sheet to ensure safe applications
Train and orient new team members on chemical handling and titration
Do monthly Titration verification of CIP system and production cleaning chemicals
Inventory, order, and maintain, cleaning and sanitizing chemicals
Ensure proper labeling and safety of chemicals.
Ensure compliance with Herbalife policies and regulatory requirements
Manage and oversee contractor/vendors operations. This includes the following:
Schedules and coordinates contractor/vendors assignments
Notify the appropriate departments of vendor activities
Follow up and review the execution of work performed for effectiveness.
Coordinate and assist Quality in environmental and drain swabbing for the plant.
Manage and oversee all production and sanitation operating supplies. This includes the following
Inventory all supplies.
Set min and max quantities for re ordering
Audit use of supplies and adjust as needed
Order supplies for operation and sanitation departments
Verify pricing/alternatives with purchasing and help select vendors
Enter requisitions in computer system
Receive supplies upon receipt
Verify order quantities are correct.
Reconcile any discrepancies found
Input inventory in department tracking systems.
Work with Finance to reconcile invoice discrepancies
Prepare for and participate in State and Federal inspections.
Ensure all documentation is correct and up to date.
Follow safety, food regulatory and operating procedures.
Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, to prepare facilities for events.
Perform other work assignments as directed by Sanitation Manager.
Attend management, planning, and maintenance meetings as needed.
