Incumbent will be responsible for reviewing medical records and provider-submitted procedure and diagnostic codes after each visit to process claims. Duties include confirming treatments and diagnoses with clinical providers, identifying missing information and the ability to complete tasks in an efficient manner while maintaining accuracy with attention to detail. The ability to work independently and exercise judgment in performing administrative tasks are essential to this job. Regular attendance is required to perform the functions of this position. Incumbent will maintain a customer-oriented awareness in acknowledging and responding to needs as they occur that customer satisfaction is met at all times. Essential Position Functions & Duties 65% General Clinic Work Input accurate information in EMR system with insurance information, authorization approval, insurance verification to ensure timely appointment scheduling and follow-up. Complying with coding guidelines and policies Receiving and reviewing patients'' charts and documents for verification and accuracy Coordinates all aspects of clinical scheduling, payment collections, insurance verification, cancellation and no-show management, appointment confirmation, as well as credentialing and denial management. 33% Provider/Billing Support Demonstrates the ability to work in a fast-paced coding environment. Possesses basic knowledge of revenue cycle. Routinely communicate with providers and the Director of Revenue Cycle Management to ensure timely scheduling and claim filing. Assigns ICD and CPT codes according to the Official Guidelines for coding and reporting. (Including but not limited to AHA, AMA, AHIMA, CMS, NCHS, and MLHS specific guidelines) Research billing audits to verify internal policies and procedures including the documentation of follow-up work performed to ensure federal, state, and commercial payer guidelines are followed. Handling incoming and outgoing mail and faxes; composing and proofing documents and spreadsheets. Collaborates with clinical staff and/or supervisor to ensure all cases are coded within timeframes specified in the payer guidelines clinical policies. Acknowledging and responding to needs as they occur to assure that customer satisfaction is met at all times.
