Education: Masters degree from an ALA-accredited program.
Required Related Experience: Extensive experience conducting and supporting evidence synthesis reviews. Knowledge of major scholarly databases search methodology and evidence synthesis standards. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders from different disciplines. Demonstrated leadership project management and organizational skills. Ability to meet the requirements of tenure-track position through research publication and/or professional engagement.
Job Summary
The University of Kentucky Libraries is vital to fulfilling the goals of enhancing and expanding the universitys research enterprise, and we are looking for a faculty librarian to serve as the Coordinator of Evidence Synthesis. This is a newly created position that will report to the Associate Dean for Outreach Engagement and Collections.
Building upon the current evidence synthesis support program, this position will be responsible for leading and coordinating a team of librarians to support a library-wide multidisciplinary service that supports systematic reviews, scoping reviews, rapid reviews, meta-analyses, and other evidence synthesis reviews and methods. This position will also be responsible for the management and administration of systematic review software.
Responsibilities
• Leadership and Coordination • Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary evidence synthesis service, including managing workflows, service levels, librarian involvement, and the management and administration of systematic review software. • Develop, maintain, and promote scalable workflows, instructional materials, policies, and quality standards that ensure transparency, reproducibility, adherence to PRISMA, and alignment with disciplinary norms. • Design and deliver workshops, consultations, and training sessions. • Mentor and collaborate with librarians to build shared expertise, provide support across service levels, and manage service capacity. • Partner with library and campus stakeholders to integrate evidence synthesis services into research, teaching, and sponsored project planning. • Assess and report on service usage, project outcomes, librarian time commitments, research impacts, and capacity.
• Providing Evidence Synthesis Support • Provide methodological support and guidance across the full evidence synthesis lifecycle from protocol development through publication. • Conduct comprehensive literature searches across disciplines at the co-authorship level and prepare publication-ready documentation in accordance with the Evidence Synthesis Support Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting evidence synthesis projects in multidisciplinary contexts. Advanced training or certification in evidence synthesis methodology. Experience with systematic review software and citation management tools. Experience training others in research methods or literature searching. Record of scholarship, teaching, and/or active membership in professional associations.
