The Coordinator of Education Licensure and Clinical Programs is responsible for overseeing clinical placements, student assessment processes, and licensure-related communication within the Department of Education at Carroll University. The Coordinator also serves as the certifying officer for undergraduate and graduate education licensure programs. This role ensures that these functions are effectively implemented, clearly communicated, and regularly evaluated for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
o Coordinate clinical placements for the Carroll University Teacher Education Program and Master of Arts in Teaching Program; collaborate with the Associate Dean, Director of Student Teaching, faculty and staff to ensure consistency of clinical placements, school support, and student success
o Individualize placements to meet student needs. Take into consideration Department of Public Instruction (DPI) certification, proximity to students' home and/or work situations as applicable. Facilitate school and/or district specific requirements for placements
o Advise students related to clinical experiences and other licensure requirements
o Perform other placement-related duties as assigned
o Conduct audits, maintain records, and verify that all DPI requirements have been met for initial and additional license candidates
o Work with initial and additional licensure candidates: respond to questions, evaluate transfer course work, and contact program area chairs regarding course substitutions or transfer work
o Work with Registrar's Office as appropriate
o Communicate with students, cooperating teachers, and partners directly to address their questions
o Establish consistency in Carroll University forms and policies
o Endorse education candidates for licensure
o Collect and analyze programmatic data
o Collaborate with the Associate Dean, faculty and staff to ensure consistency, efficiency, and accuracy in program assessment and external (i.e. DPI, Title II) reporting
