JOB SUMMARY:

The Coordinator of Early Learning will oversee Early Childhood Screening and support Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) programs. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality educational services and family supports for children birth through kindergarten entry, focusing on program integrity, staff supervision, and positive developmental outcomes for all families.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Leadership & Strategy

  • Operational Oversight: Lead the daily operations of the Early Childhood Screening (ECS) and Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) programs.
  • Program Design: Partner with the Director of Early Learning to design and implement ECFE programming tailored to community needs.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure all services maintain high standards and comply with state-mandated regulations and local requirements.
  • Evaluation & Improvement: Coordinate and maintain program evaluation systems, reporting results to leadership to drive continuous improvement.
  • Facility Management: Monitor screening and classroom environments to ensure safety, functional equipment, and adequate resource levels.
Personnel & Team Operations
  • Staff Management: Supervise and support staff by providing clear direction on procedures and expectations.
  • Talent Development: Collaborate with the Director to hire, train, and prepare annual staffing assignments for teachers, assistants, and screening staff.
  • Team Alignment: Lead quarterly staff meetings and regular in-services to align on goals, updates, and professional growth.
  • Professionalism: Meet expectations for professional growth goals and foster a constructive, team-oriented culture among office and program staff.
Financial & Data Integrity
  • Budgetary Support: Assist in the implementation and monitoring of ECFE and ECS budgets.
  • Records Management: Establish and analyze financial and class records; ensure all state-mandated reporting is accurate and submitted on time.
  • Administrative Accuracy: Maintain detailed record-keeping standards for all program participants and screening results.
Community Engagement & Outreach
  • Strategic Outreach: Lead activities for the Early Learning Outreach vehicle, including scheduling mobile screening events.
  • Marketing & Recruitment: Collaborate with the ECFS office to create marketing materials and supervise recruitment initiatives to ensure program visibility.
  • Partnership Management: Act as a liaison between the district and community partners to cultivate relationships that meet the evolving needs of families.
  • Direct Service & Representation: Conduct screenings and parent summary meetings; deliver presentations at community events to advocate for early childhood services.
Summary of Expectations

This role requires a blend of high-level administrative oversight and direct community interaction. The supervisor serves as the bridge between district leadership, program staff, and the diverse families of the Rochester community to ensure every child is offered resources and opportunities to prepare for a successful kindergarten entry.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood and/or Parent Education (dual licensure preferred).
  • 1 or more years of directly related experience with program coordination
  • 3 or more years of experience in Early Childhood or related field
  • Creative problem solver
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Willingness to be certified as a van driver and drive our outreach vehicle for community outreach
