The Coordinator is part of the MNSON's clinical placement team. This team is responsible for securing and coordinating clinical experiences and facilitating the onboarding of students and clinical instructors associated with all clinical courses. The Coordinator will be responsible for a portfolio of partnerships and students in one or more of the MNSON program tracks: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN), Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Nurse Practitioner Doctor of Practice (DNP) programs.
The Coordinator reports to the Director for Strategic Healthcare Partnerships and supports faculty program track directors and other MNSON leadership associated with the assigned portfolio.
This position can be based on either the Lakeshore (LSC) or Health Sciences (HSC) campus with occasional travel between campuses and to partner sites.
Responsibilities:
Manages administrative activities associated with clinical placement of BSN, MSN and DNP students in the MNSON including:
Submits and tracks requests to clinical sites and preceptors
Tracks affiliation agreement requests in collaboration with other MNSON staff
Prepares documents to be sent to clinical agencies
Monitors student and instructor document submission
Fosters new relationships with organizations and preceptors in collaboration with the Director of Strategic Partnerships and MNSON faculty:
Research prospective organizations and/or preceptors
Facilitate exploratory communication by email, phone and meetings
Track progression of relationship status
Manages communication with students, clinical instructors, and clinical partners during all phases of the clinical placement process
Serves as a liaison between clinical and affiliating agency personnel and MNSON regarding the administrative and operating requirements of the BSN, MSN and DNP programs.
Maintains clinical site onboarding requirements using learning management systems (e.g. Brightspace, Sakai) and advises staff and faculty directors on changes in agency requirements.
Manages the data entry and update of clinical site, clinical partner and instructor contact information and other details.
Assist in monitoring student compliance in accordance with MNSON pre-clinical requirements.
Prepares reports as assigned.
Coordinates preceptor and partner appreciation and recognition activities
Utilizes various technology systems to accomplish daily tasks including, but not limited to, Excel, Zoom, Castle Branch, Qualified First, Sakai, myClinicalExchange, Microsoft Office 360, and Qualtrics
Leverages social media to connect and expand MSNON preceptor community
Assumes other responsibilities as designated by the Director of Strategic Healthcare Partnerships
Assists with MNSON events and special projects.
Other duties as assigned.
