Primary Purpose:

Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of the district's assessment and accountability programs under the direction of the Director of Assessment & Accountability. Coordinate the administration and security of state and local assessments, including STAAR and TELPAS, and assist with college, career, and military readiness (CCMR) testing. Compile, organize, and analyze district, campus, and student data to support accountability reporting and continuous improvement. Provide training and technical assistance to campus testing coordinators and staff, and use data analysis to support instructional improvement and ensure compliance with Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required

Master's degree from an accredited college or university preferred

Valid Texas teaching certificate required

Experience:

Minimum of three years of experience in education, assessment coordination, accountability systems, or a related field preferred

Campus testing coordinator or district assessment experience required

Experience in accountability, assessment coordination, or school improvement preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Strong knowledge of Texas assessment and accountability systems, including A-F ratings, domain calculations, CCMR, STAAR, and TELPAS

Knowledge of state assessment administration procedures and test security requirements

Knowledge of assessments and assessment platforms, including state assessments, NWEA MAP, mCLASS, CLI, and TIDE

Familiarity with the Results Driven Accountability (RDA) system

Proficiency in data analysis tools and platforms such as Eduphoria, OnDataSuite, NWEA MAP Growth reports, Excel, and TEA reporting tools

Ability to analyze, interpret, and explain assessment and accountability data to varied stakeholders

Knowledge of the Texas Education Code and the ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data

Strong organizational, logistical planning, and project management skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral

Ability to manage timelines and multiple competing priorities

Strong technology and data management skills

Ability to collaborate effectively with campus and district staff

Highly organized and self-directed, with strong initiative and reliability in coordinating complex tasks across departments

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Assessment Coordination and Administration

  1. Support the design, implementation, and management of the district's assessment systems.

  2. Coordinate the implementation and administration of districtwide state and local assessments, including STAAR and TELPAS.

  3. Support the development and management of district assessment calendars, timelines, and testing procedures.

  4. Assist campuses with assessment logistics, materials management, scheduling, and compliance processes.

  5. Coordinate training and support for campus testing coordinators and other assessment personnel.

  6. Support implementation of all assessment security procedures and ensure compliance with TEA requirements.

  7. Assist in monitoring campuses during testing windows to ensure fidelity of implementation.

  8. Coordinate the collection, verification, and submission of required assessment documentation.

  9. Support the resolution of testing irregularities and related documentation processes as needed.

  10. Assist with the setup, maintenance, and management of assessment platforms and systems.

  11. Support district benchmark and interim assessment processes as assigned.

Accountability and Data Analysis

  1. Assist in compiling, organizing, and analyzing district, campus, and student assessment data.

  2. Support the development of accountability reports, data dashboards, and performance summaries.

  3. Assist campuses and district departments in interpreting assessment and accountability data.

  4. Support accountability forecasting and projection processes.

  5. Monitor data accuracy and assist with verification of assessment and accountability information.

  6. Compile reports required for district, state, and federal accountability systems.

  7. Support district improvement planning through data analysis and reporting.

  8. Assist in identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement in student performance outcomes.

Professional Learning and Support

  1. Provide training and technical assistance related to assessment systems, accountability processes, and data reporting.

  2. Support campus staff in understanding testing procedures, timelines, and accountability expectations.

  3. Assist in developing assessment manuals, communication materials, guidance documents, and presentations.

  4. Collaborate with district departments to align assessment and accountability processes with instructional priorities.

School and Community Relations

  1. Articulate the mission and goals of the department to internal and external stakeholders.

  2. Build strong relationships with school leaders, families, and community partners.

  3. Communicate key findings and initiatives clearly and consistently.

Management of Fiscal, Administrative, and Facilities Functions

  1. Maintain accurate, complete, and timely records related to assessment and accountability systems.

  2. Compile, maintain, and file reports, records, and other required documentation.

  3. Ensure compliance with district policies, state laws, and federal regulations related to assessment and accountability.

  4. Support inventory management and distribution processes for assessment materials and related resources.

  5. Assist with coordination of district testing environments and operational readiness.

Other Duties as Assigned

  1. Perform all job-related duties as assigned and in accordance with Board rules, policies, and regulations. All employees are expected to comply with lawful directives in rare situations driven by need where a team effort is required.
