Summary

This position reports to the Dean and collaborates closely with the Associate Dean, department chairs, academic advisor, college faculty, and Office of Admissions staff. The role provides leadership and oversight of the College's undergraduate recruitment, outreach, and retention efforts; plans and manages major recruitment events (audition days, Music Discovery Day, etc.); supports the achievement of enrollment goals; and represents the College at internal and external events (Preview Days, high school visits, college fairs, etc.). This position operates in a dynamic environment with predictable peak periods throughout the admissions cycle, and requires the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining a collaborative and solutions-oriented approach.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee all operations and events associated with the Music Admissions Office
  • Plan and execute CMA audition days and Music Discovery Day
  • Develop and implement strategic recruitment and retention initiatives
  • Manage the music admissions budget; assist with scholarship coordination; prepare annual reports
  • Organize, recruit, and supervise the Student Ambassador program
  • Collaborate closely with the Office of Admissions and campus partners
  • Lead CMA retention initiatives, with a primary focus on first-year student success
  • Supervise graduate assistants assigned to the Music Admissions Office
  • Navigate shifting priorities and timelines while ensuring high-quality outcomes
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

The following Degree is required:

  • Bachelor's degree required

The following Degree is preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in music

The following Experience is required:

  • 2 years of experience in higher education admissions, student affairs, or music education

The following Experience is preferred:

  • 3 years of experience in higher education music admissions
  • Experience with strategic planning and/or data analysis

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively under pressure in dynamic environments

  • Background in music within a higher education setting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications, including Microsoft 365 applications
  • Ability to serve as an effective, engaging spokesperson and ambassador for the College and its programs
