    JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Coordinator Intramurals assists in the development, implementation, and administration of a comprehensive Intramural Sports program. This position, in collaboration with the supervisor, supports the oversight of all aspects of the Intramural Sports Program, including development, daily operations, and community engagement. This position provides leadership and supervision for assigned Campus Recreation facilities and personnel including, work-study students.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION:

    Bachelor''s Degree. (Master's Degree preferred) (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

    EXPERIENCE:

    Two (2) years of experience organizing, planning, and implementing wellness, fitness, outdoor recreation, aquatics, intramural sports, and recreational sports, as well as wellness and special events in a college or university setting; OR Master's Degree in lieu of experience. CPR/AED and First Aid Certification or willing to complete within three (3) months of hire.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Knowledge of programming for students, faculty, staff, faculty use, activities, sports and fitness.
    • Knowledge of management and operation of recreation facilities and equipment.
    • Ability to design and market fitness center and campus recreation programs.
    • Knowledge of campus recreation and intramural software programs.
    • Ability to research fitness equipment and materials and website knowledge.
    • Good written and oral communication skills.
    • Recreational and fitness knowledge.

    WORK SCHEDULE: This position may frequently be required to work weekends and evenings.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Plans, markets, and administers a comprehensive Intramural Sports program to include program assessment and review as well as hiring, training, and scheduling student workers for intramural sports and fitness center.
    • Schedules intramural sports games and tournaments through Fusion and assists the director in maintenance and facility development affecting these areas.
    • Provides direct services, including facilitating, refereeing, and hosting sports and recreation opportunities within and outside of Campus Recreation facilities.
    • Assists in the supervision of fitness center student staff.
    • Serves as the primary point of contact at the gym fitness desk.
    • Ensures equipment management, equipment upkeep, and adheres to the equipment replacement schedule to acquire needed equipment.
    • Welcomes patrons to the fitness center exercise floor and manages and verifies memberships for eligibility.
    • Assists in the maintenance of the fitness center facilities across campus.
    • Perform other duties as required.
