Job Description Summary Delivers and coordinates technical training through the Advanced Manufacturing Customized Training Program (NCEdge) including the Pratt & Whitney project. Provides hands-on instruction to industry employees in areas such as machining, automation, or quality control. Maintains direct contact with industry clients to ensure training meets workforce needs and serves as the colleges liaison with regional colleges for the Pratt & Whitney program. Collaborates with A-B Tech EWD staff to coordinate training schedules, lab spaces, and instructors. Works with industrial clients to create customized curriculum and hands-on experiences that incorporate relevant technology. Assists with the procurement and maintenance of training equipment to ensure high-quality instruction.

This position is available until May 25, 2027, with the option for extension based on performance and funding.

Duties

  1. Provides hands-on technical training for industry employees through the Customized Training Program which includes the Pratt & Whitney project. The training covers important manufacturing topics such as machining, coating, automation, robotics, quality control, and lean principles.
  2. Develops and implements customized curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional materials aligned with industry needs and current manufacturing technologies.
  3. Facilitates lab-based and applied learning experiences ensuring effective use of training equipment and instructional technology.
  4. Coordinates training services through regular communication with industry partners to ensure training aligns with workforce needs and project goals.
  5. Works with A-B Tech Economic & Workforce Development staff to coordinate training schedules, lab space, and equipment use to support instructional delivery.
  6. Serves as a point of contact for Customized Training Program projects including Pratt & Whitney. Meets regularly with key stakeholders to ensure consistent alignment on planned training activities.
  7. Serves as the colleges liaison with regional colleges on programming related to the Pratt & Whitney Customized Training Program and student connections to industry employment in A-B Techs service area. Travels regionally as required.
  8. Directs clients in following training project plans and scheduling planned training events. Facilitates and ensures training activity in the Customized Training Program.
  9. Assists with securing and scheduling instructors, assists with contract negotiations and setup, and initiates setup of class documentation.
  10. Creates training requests, funding requests, and assists with managing the Customized Training Program project budgets.
  11. Registers training classes and verifies accurate completion of class paperwork.
  12. Evaluates learner progress and provides constructive feedback to promote skill mastery and workplace application.
  13. Maintains current knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and instructional best practices.
  14. Works closely with the EWD staff on the Customized Training project financials.
  15. Updates and manages project and training services records.
  16. Adheres to state guidelines on Customized Training Program projects.
  17. Assists with quarterly and year-end reporting.
  18. Attends offsite meetings and events as required.
  19. Contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and RISE statement.
  20. Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects.
  21. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements Applicant must meet all of the minimum requirements:

  1. Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  2. Must have three years of full-time or equivalent experience working in a public-facing position and interacting with diverse populations.
  3. Must have one year of full-time or equivalent experience coordinating activities within or management duties of a facility such as an office, school, or business setting.
  4. Must have experience in either training, coaching, mentoring, assisting, or counseling others in a manufacturing, office, business, or education setting.
  5. Must have experience dealing with financial transactions such as payables, receivables, material procurement, budget management.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Associates or Bachelors degree.
  2. Experience setting up and coordinating training or education programs.
  3. Experience with an electronic procurement/supplier exchange system for the purchase of supplies and services.
  4. Project management experience.
  5. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.
