Job Summary

Equity and Access North Star To dismantle systemic barriers and elevate marginalized voices, the Equity and Access Unit builds leadership and systems capacity to embed equity across policy and pedagogy, ensuring sustainable, measurable success for every student. The Equity and Access Coordinator III leads transformative work and provides strategic, andragogical, and coaching services to LACOE staff and Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) to ensure all students, especially students at the margins, thrive. Guided by the Equity and Access North Star, the Coordinator III serves as a catalyst for disrupting disproportionate student outcomes by reimagining educational systems with our partners and cultivating inclusive environments where every student and staff member experiences a deep sense of belonging and affirmation. The Coordinator III will design and facilitate transformative learning experiences that embed equity into every layer of practice-from policy to pedagogy. This position is responsible working with LEA partners to systematize the Equity Transformation Cycle and providing coaching and technical assistance that result in meaningful, measurable impact. The Coordinator III will collaborate with the LACOE Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion leadership team to elevate the Equity and Access service model, which engages adult learners in the Inside Out Journey by challenging internalized deficit narratives through Cultural Proficiency (inside) and supporting LEAs with the development of coherent systems and practices through Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, Restorative Practices, and the Pedagogy of Voice (out). Through thoughtful, meaningful storytelling, the Coordinator III will communicate the impact of our work to our partners near and far to foster alignment and shared commitment.

Requirements / Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Experience: Five or more years of comprehensive, directly related, and progressive educational administration experience. Including three years of professional development experience in equity, access, inclusion, wellbeing, school improvement or a closely related field. Education: Equivalent to a Master's degree in education or a closely related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE: Possess and maintain a valid California teaching credential. Possess and maintain a valid Administrative Credential.
