Coordinator- Grants and Development

The Coordinator Grants and Development provides administrative and financial coordination support for the Division of Biotechnology and Molecular Medicine (BioMMED) and associated programs including LBRN, Cancer COBRE, GeneLab, and conference initiatives (e.g., NISBRE). This position supports pre-award and post-award grant activities, financial tracking, procurement, and compliance while serving as a key liaison between BioMMED, LSU administrative offices, and external partner institutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • 30%- Financial & Grant Administration: Process and manage financial transactions including requisitions, purchase orders, travel reimbursements, expense reports, and invoices. Maintain accurate financial records across BioMMED, LBRN, and affiliated grant programs. Coordinate invoicing and financial reporting for sub-projects and partner institutions. Serve as a primary administrative contact for LBRN campuses to ensure timely processing of expenditures and compliance.
  • 25%- Budget Development & GeneLab Operations: Assist in preparing budgets and budget justifications for grant submissions and program planning. Support financial tracking and cost allocation across multiple funding streams. Coordinate GeneLab cost center activities including iLab billing, reporting, and contract tracking. Work closely with BioMMED leadership and GeneLab Manager on financial operations.
  • 20%- Procurement, Compliance & Inventory: Coordinate procurement activities including vendor communication, quotes, bids, and purchasing processes in compliance with LSU policies. Reconcile expenses and maintain procurement documentation. Assist with inventory tracking of equipment and supplies. Support compliance requirements for training programs, workshops, and conferences.
  • 20%- Subaward & Contract Coordination: Assist with subaward setup and monitoring in collaboration with OSP and SPA. Review invoices and supporting documentation for compliance with grant and contractual requirements. Track subaward deliverables and timelines to ensure adherence to funding agency guidelines.
  • 5%-Other Duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Business Administration or Accounting; and experience in pre-award and post-award grant administration. Familiarity with NIH, NSF, or federal grant processes. Experience working in a university or research environment. Knowledge of LSU systems (Workday, iLab, procurement systems). Financial systems (e.g., Workday), Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) Budget tracking and reporting.
