Position purpose:

The Coordinator of Student Engagement within the Office of Student Engagement provides leadership for Belmont student life, maximizing engagement and success by providing opportunities for students to find belonging through common purpose, activities, organizations, and events. The Coordinator of Student Engagement works closely with the Assistant Director of Student Engagement to support the operations of over 250 student organizations and enhance leadership development, event coordination, and administrative processes. Key responsibilities include student leader and advisor training, event support, providing administrative and BruinLink support for the Office of Student Engagement, providing financial management, and collaboration on Leadership & Engagement initiatives.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide leadership & administrative support to the Office of Student Engagement, including student organizations, activities, & collaborative partnerships across the Division of Student Formation and broader campus community (New student Orientation, Residence Life, Athletics, Alumni Relations, etc.).

  2. Provide administrative support for managing Student Organizational activity - including travel waivers, risk management forms, space requests, new organization meetings, organization registrations, etc.

  3. Assist Leadership & Engagement team with oversight of campus-wide programming including but not limited to: Day to Dream, Homecoming, Leadership Launch, BruinLink Fair, It Must Be Wednesday, Belmont Student Leadership Awards, and student led programming through the Student Activities Programming Board.

  4. Provide leadership & support to the Office of Student Engagement student workers through recruiting, training, and managing.

  5. Help develop and lead trainings and workshops for student organization advisor and student leaders, based on evolving needs.

  6. Oversee the SGA Grant process, including educating student organizations on funding guidelines, coordinating the approval workflow, and managing financial purchases with granted funds.

  7. Partner with the Office of Student Engagement staff in processing financial requests and managing the departmental budget and gift funds.
