Coordinator, Driver Support
Position Summary
The Superintendent invites qualified and interested candidates to apply for the position of Coordinator, Driver Support. The Coordinator, Driver Support works directly under the supervision of the Senior Director of Transportation providing dispatching and administrative support to the transportation department.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Experience and familiarity with using information systems to track and update data
- Familiarly in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat and Google Suite
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Bilingual-Spanish preferred
- Hold a valid CDL A or B CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsement
- Hold a valid Medical Examiners Certificate
- Previous school transportation experience
Core Responsibilities
Major responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Dispatches all regular education and special services, and trip buses
- Maintains an up-to-date listing of school buses and assigned drivers and aides.
- Assures ready access to an up-to-date route sheet for each scheduled route.
- Prepares and distributes trip sheets to assigned drivers
- Maintains an accurate daily attendance roster of drivers
- Coordinated pick up/drop off times of student receiving curb to curb service
- Maintains Driver Qualification File
- Ensures that drivers are submitting correct DVIRs daily and reports any discrepancies
- Communicates with drivers on route, as necessary
- Maintain current knowledge of routes and locations to assure timely services and accurate information.
- Maintains vehicles inspection schedule and coordinates maintenance schedule with manager and vendor
- Acts as substitute or relief driver, as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
The Driver Support Coordinator may also take on other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Director of Transportation or designee.

Terms of Employment
Twelve-month position. Salary, benefits, and conditions of employment shall be in accordance with Board policy and applicable agreements.
Evaluation
Performance shall be evaluated annually in accordance with Board policy, administrative regulations, and district leadership procedures.
Reports To: Senior Director of Transportation
Work Year: Twelve (12) Months
Classification: Non-Affiliated
Minimum Starting Salary: $70,000.00
Maximum Starting Salary: $90,000.00
Residency Requirement
Under New Jersey's "New Jersey First Act" (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7), all employees of New Jersey public school districts must maintain bona fide New Jersey residency as a condition of employment. Candidates must already reside in New Jersey or establish residency within the required timeframe after hire. Current employees who were hired on or before September 1, 2011 are exempt from this requirement and may continue to reside outside the state. In limited circumstances, applicants may request a residency waiver through the state's Employee Residency Review Committee if they can demonstrate critical need or hardship; approval is not guaranteed.
