Primary Purpose:
The Career and Technical Education Coordinator is responsible for Coordinating district career and technical education programs to meet student needs and serve as an instructional leader in development and improvement of instructional programs in career and technical education.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's Degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Master's Degree preferred
- Valid Texas principal certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of the CTE Programs of Study as defined by TEA
- Knowledge and understanding of CTE curriculum and instruction
- Knowledge in data collection systems to develop instructional and behavioral strengths, needs, and goals for specially designed instruction as well as progress monitoring.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in the effective use of technology.
- Ability to work effectively with both adults and children.
- Ability to analyze and support implementation of policy and procedures.
- Ability to interpret data preferred.
- Working knowledge of federal and state codes governing career and technical education.
- Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness.
- Ability to coordinate district functions.
- Strong organizational, managerial, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to supervise, plan, and present staff development
- Must have experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Experience:
- Five (5) years of successful teaching experience in CTE
- CTE department chair experience referred
Work Schedule: 221 days
Salary: Pay Grade 4 / Administrative/Professional Hiring Schedule
