Program Dates: February 2, 2026 – March 31, 2026 Schedule: Thursdays, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM Grade Levels: 1st – 6th Grade
Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cooking Instructor to lead a fun, hands-on after-school cooking program for elementary school students. The instructor will introduce basic cooking skills, kitchen safety, nutrition awareness, and simple recipes in an engaging and age-appropriate way.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children and has a passion for cooking and teaching life skills in a positive, structured environment.
Responsibilities
Lead weekly 2-hour cooking classes for students in grades 1–6
Teach basic cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen etiquette
Prepare lesson plans and age-appropriate recipes
Supervise students and maintain a safe, clean learning environment
Manage classroom behavior and encourage teamwork and creativity
Communicate professionally with school staff and program coordinators
Clean and organize materials and workspace after each session
Qualifications
Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, camps, after-school programs, etc.)
Basic cooking or culinary knowledge
Reliable, punctual, and professional
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Ability to pass a background check (if required by the school)
Teaching or culinary certification is a plus, but not required
