Position is mainly nights but candidate must be flexible.

Position Summary:

  • The Cook prepares food which is nutritious and appetizing in accordance with requirements of the Food Production Manager.
  • Responsible for preparing meals for patients on both regular and modified diets. Also, food items for the cafeteria.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records of all foods prepared and returned.
  • Ensuring MD Dept of Health standards are followed, along with strict safety standards under Johns Hopkins expectations

Experience:

  • HS diploma, or equivalent, required
  • Culinary training (graduate of a culinary or technical school) preferred
  • 1 year related experience required
  • Experience cooking in a hospital or healthcare setting is highly preferred
  • Or, experience cooking in an institutional setting

Hours/Other Information:

  • Full-time, Rotating Shift (40 hrs per week)
  • Rotating weekend & holiday work required

Salary Range: Minimum 21.79/hour - Maximum 25.18/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
