About the role

We're looking for a skilled and passionate Cook to join the team at the brand-new RAA 1903 Café in the heart of Adelaide city. This is a 2 year, maximum term, full-time role where you'll be at the centre of delivering great food and a great experience to RAA members, staff, and visitors every day.

Reporting to the Café Operations Manager, you'll take ownership of food preparation and production, uphold our food safety standards, and help keep the kitchen running smoothly - all while being a genuine, collaborative team member.

What you'll do

•      Prepare, cook, and present food to RAA menu specifications and quality standards

•      Ensure meals are produced consistently, meeting dietary requirements and customer expectations

•      Contribute to menu development and rotation in collaboration with the Café Operations Manager

•      Manage portion control and minimise waste in line with RAA sustainability principles

•      Maintain full compliance with FSANZ requirements, RAA's Food Safety Program, and HACCP principles

•      Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and safe at all times

•      Manage stock levels, receive deliveries, and apply FIFO rotation principles

•      Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff on timings, specials, and dietary needs

•      Support and mentor less experienced team members when needed

What we're looking for

Essential:

•      Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent), or demonstrated equivalent experience

•      Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)

•      Solid experience working in a professional kitchen environment

•      Experience in a hospitality, tourism, or member services environment

•      Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and HACCP principles

•      The ability to stay cool under pressure and consistently meet service deadlines

•      Flexible availability including early morning starts (7am – 3pm)

•      Strong communication skills and a genuine team-first approach

Desirable:

•      Knowledge of allergen management and catering for diverse dietary needs

•      First Aid Certificate
