We are seeking a Conventional Machinist to perform moderately complex tasks supporting OEM equipment repair and maintenance in Chesapeake, VA.
The role involves layout, setup, operation, and tool adjustments on manual machine shop equipment such as lathes, mills, grinders, and saws. Candidates must read blueprints, measure precisely, machine parts to tight tolerances, and troubleshoot machining issues.
Requirements include 5+ years of machine shop experience or completion of a recognized apprenticeship, ability to interpret engineering drawings, operate various tools, and work independently. A U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DOD security clearance are necessary, along with willingness to work overtime and travel up to 25%. Basic hand tools and a valid driver’s license are required.
