Job Title: Assembly Technician

Job Description

Join a dynamic and innovative team as an Controls Technician, where you will play a crucial role in supporting the Final Assembly Production Engineering Department. Your passion and technical skills will contribute to the success of high-quality, low-cost, and reliable plant equipment and control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Review equipment specifications and designs to identify improvements.
  • Conduct vendor buyoffs to confirm equipment functionality.
  • Install and commission equipment, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Investigate modification requirements and implement necessary changes.
  • Conduct trials and adjustments to improve equipment quality and productivity.
  • Perform quality trials at vendor sites to minimize adjustment time during vehicle trials.
  • Oversee vendor installation and facilitate the kanban process.
  • Verify quality results using secondary methods such as torque checks and vacuum profiles.
  • Install, set up, and troubleshoot program controllers.
  • Provide training to maintenance members on newly implemented equipment.
  • Share subject matter expertise with local NAMC maintenance and production members.
  • Travel up to 50% for project-based work.

Essential Skills

  • Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills, with experience in Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, or similar systems - 2 years
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PLCs and electrical circuits - 2 years
  • 2-year technical degree or completion of a trade school program in EET or Industrial Maintenance Technology, or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Ability to travel up to 50% and work up to 30% overtime when required
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs on occasion
  • Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of industrial robot programming and teaching
  • Knowledge of AGVs/AMRs programming and setup
  • Knowledge of safety scanners and programming
  • Knowledge of various industrial controls networking, including EthernetIP, FLNet, ProfiNet, etc.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Georgetown, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
