    Controls Technician

    Our braids are used in a variety of applications ranging from automobile side impact airbags to jet engine stator vanes and from hockey sticks to prosthetics. Some recognizable applications using A&P braid include the frames of Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner, composite fan cases for GE engines, and airbeams for the U.S. Military.

    A&P Technology’s success has created the need for a Controls Technician. The Controls Technician will construct and maintain control systems to support new and existing equipment. Our Controls Technician is responsible for building and maintaining control cabinets/panels, configuration programming, installation, testing, and troubleshooting.

    Responsibilities:
    • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and specifications
    • Build and install automation control systems (electrical/pneumatic)
    • Configure Servo, PLC, and HMI hardware
    • Troubleshoot and repair control systems and equipment
    • Collaborate with a multi-functional team to optimize and implement automation solutions and manufacturing process improvements

    Requirements:
    • Familiarity with control system wiring and pneumatics
    • Experience using hand and power tools, fault-testing equipment and sodering
    • Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills
    • Self-motivated, adaptable personality and willing to work in fast paced, dynamic environment
