Controls Service Technician – Winston-Salem, NC – Up to $40/hr + Bonus + Vehicle

About the Opportunity:

A reputable mechanical HVAC and building controls contractor is seeking an experienced Controls Service Technician to support their expanding service operations in the Winston-Salem, NC region. This role includes competitive pay, annual bonus opportunities, and a company-provided vehicle. The technician will be responsible for maintaining and servicing building automation systems across healthcare, commercial, and light industrial facilities.

Position Details:

  • Title: Controls Service Technician
  • Location: Winston-Salem, NC (service radius approximately 1 hour)
  • Status: Full-Time | Field-Based

Ideal Candidate:

  • 5+ years of experience in BAS or HVAC controls service
  • Strong working knowledge of Tridium/Niagara systems – required
  • Proficient in commissioning, troubleshooting, and servicing DDC control systems
  • Capable of programming controls (new sequences or modifying existing logic)
  • Ability to interpret wiring schematics, perform point-to-point verification, and ensure code compliance
  • Excellent diagnostic, customer service, and communication abilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, program, troubleshoot, and service BAS and HVAC control systems
  • Perform system commissioning, startup procedures, and functional testing
  • Update, improve, and maintain control programs and databases
  • Conduct remote and onsite diagnostics of automation equipment
  • Handle preventative maintenance tasks and respond to service calls
  • Keep systems current with firmware, software, and cybersecurity standards
  • Work closely with project teams and service staff to resolve technical challenges
