Your impact

As a Controls & Protection Engineer, you’ll be the technical backbone behind reliable generator enclosure systems. Your designs, schematics, and standards-driven decisions will ensure safe operation, proper synchronization, and robust protection so customers have power when it matters most.

Core responsibilities

  • Engineer and specify electrical systems inside generator enclosures.
  • Develop and validate single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
  • Lead protection coordination and grounding system design.
  • Ensure designs meet IEC, IEEE, NEC, and NFPA standards.
  • Author installation instructions and provide technical support for operations, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to other initiatives as assigned by your manager.

What sets you up for success

  • Bachelor’s-level education; Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
  • Experience with SolidWorks 3D and familiarity with SolidWorks Simulations.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings; accurate tape measure use.
  • Strong math foundation; knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven setting; able to operate independently with professionalism and calm under pressure.
  • Excellent communicator who can translate plans and goals for the broader workforce.
  • Comfort working on highly customized products.

Where and how you’ll work

  • Conditions may include extreme weather and loud noise.
  • Possible exposure to vibration, strong odors, moving mechanical parts, electrical shock, flammable liquids and gases, oils and solvents, and heights over 4 feet on platforms or equipment.
  • Appropriate PPE is required.
  • Travel generally up to 10%.
