The Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, commissioning, and updating control systems on automated machinery and equipment for business processes.

Monday - Friday 8AM to 5PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining all control records for all equipment for the company.
  • Create new or modify PLC programs for new control upgrades and improvements.
  • Troubleshoot complex controls/mechanical related issues containing variable frequency drives, servo drives, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Assist in installing wiring for new equipment as required.
  • Designs new control panels and make improvements to existing equipment as required.
  • Schedule changes on equipment based on production needs.
  • Look for opportunities to improve equipment efficiency or process improvements.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Electrical to create and modify electrical drawings.
  • Make out purchase requisitions for repair parts and replacement stock items.
  • Responsible for training maintenance controls programmer.
  • Be able to recognize process problems and help find solutions for them.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Participate in improving our product, processes, equipment and methods.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
  • Design and troubleshoot HVAC controls for the office and manufacturing area.
  • Handle internal and external questions in a prompt professional manner.
  • Continually look for ways to improve job efficiency and performance.
  • Perform all reasonably related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of progressively more responsible experience
  • A professional level of knowledge in a specialized field equivalent to that ordinarily acquired by completing a four-year baccalaureate program in an engineering field.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
