This role is centered within the department and closely interacts with the department manager to fulfill both broad and detailed job responsibilities. The role entails:
**Core Responsibilities:**
- Implement a management approach that aligns with established company principles.

**Key Accountabilities:**
- Offer hands-on support and problem-solving for automation tools, including robotic systems.
- Design, program, and enhance Vision Systems, PLCs, and HMIs to improve process efficiency and product quality.
- Work with various teams to strategize, implement, and commission new automation technologies as needed.
- Lead or contribute to automation and robotics-related capital projects, including vendor evaluation and project implementation.
- Provide training for operational and maintenance staff on automation system use, safety protocols, and best maintenance practices.
- Implement engineering changes and process improvements to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.
- Suggest and evaluate new technologies to advance manufacturing capabilities.
- Establish and maintain preventive maintenance protocols for automation machinery.
- Engage in continuous improvement programs to optimize processes and cost-effectiveness.
- Document progress and project status for review by leadership, highlighting key achievements and risks.
- Occasionally, weekend work or remote support may be required.
- Undertake additional tasks related to engineering as needed.
**Qualifications and Skills:**
- At least 2 years of experience in programming and integrating Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and Vision Systems from brands like Keyence and Cognex.
- Capable of interpreting AutoCAD schematics and system layouts.
- Robust project management capabilities, managing various priorities simultaneously in a dynamic workplace.
- Deep understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including automation control methods, sensors, and actuators.
- Strong analytical skills and adeptness in problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication competencies, both verbal and written.
- Proven leadership abilities, with a knack for mentoring and influencing team members.
**Educational Background:**
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering is preferred.
- Consideration for candidates with a significant combination of related education and at least 10 years of pertinent experience in lieu of a degree.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to stand or walk up to eight hours daily, sit for similar durations, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds. Good close-vision capability is necessary. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks at various heights for extended periods.
