The Controls Engineer Manager is responsible for end‑to‑end execution of all brownfield projects and small‑medium greenfield projects, with accountability for engineering delivery, cost control, schedule adherence, and risk management.This role provides dedicated leadership for high‑risk, execution‑heavy work, ensuring predictable delivery while protecting margin. The Controls Manager operates as the primary execution owner, engineering resource manager, subcontractor quality manager. This individual must be knowledgeable of all projects being worked on by their team so that they can support their engineers' needs and help them resolve project issues. This role will require strong interpersonal and communication skills with enhanced multi‑tasking abilities across engineering, project management, procurement, and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have the ability to support company, and client needs while also promoting individual success and inspiring their employees to grow within the organization.Essential Job DutiesManage engineering resources to keep them fully utilized on internal and client projectsRecruit and interview possible engineering candidates when additional resources are neededOversee training and mentoring of engineering personnelExecute annual performance reviews for engineering staff and recommend raises or promotions when appropriateDevelop and maintain department standards while making sure that these standards are followed by all employees for all projectsManage day‑to‑day engineering activities across design, implementation, commissioning, and close‑out, ensuring adherence to project schedules, scope, and cost targetsCollaborate with executive team to develop department goals and individual development goals for engineering staffWork with clients and other KPI employees to develop the proper material handling system and equipment to suit the client's needsLead design reviews and attend client meetings to support project engineersSupport vendor factory acceptance testing or first article inspectionsOversee Electrical and controls subcontractorsRequirementsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or related field).
