    Description

    We are seeking a professional to specify, design, implement, and maintain complex controls systems and software programming on production equipment and associated machinery. This role involves training and assisting Controls Technicians in solving complex problems.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Observe OSHA and company safety rules, using proper safety equipment. Identify and address electrical hazards. Develop Safety Procedures for installed machines.
    • Lead and support internal teams and external vendors to design, install, and start up new equipment and process controls. This includes component selection, design approval, software modifications, and problem resolution.
    • Assist Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to meet daily priorities and special projects.
    • Specify PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, motors, drives, sensors, and data collection software. Evaluate equipment and recommend best options.
    • Design and modify complex programs in PLCs, HMIs, and servo controllers to improve performance.
    • Perform troubleshooting and critical thinking to solve electrical, mechanical, or process problems. Lead and assist in troubleshooting machinery and equipment.
    • Provide technical and operations training to various personnel. Share knowledge and coordinate training of new personnel.
    • Assist in project planning and budgeting processes.

    Ideal Candidate Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years industrial controls experience with advanced electrical theory knowledge.
    • Experience with DCS and/or PLC hardware and software.
    • Advanced proficiency in PLC, DCS, or HMI programming.
    • Experience with system management, including backup and restoring.
    • Experience with industrial control networks setup and troubleshooting.
    • Proven ability to lead control engineering projects ranging from $50k-$500k.
    • Proficiency in CAD Software, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
