Overview


We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to join a growing, family-owned organization and play a critical leadership role within a $200M+ distribution group. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys building processes, improving operations, and partnering directly with executive leadership.


As Controller, you will have significant visibility across the organization and a direct line of sight to executive owners. You will lead finance integration efforts, strengthen accounting processes, and help drive operational excellence during a pivotal period of growth and transformation following a recent merger.

Responsibilities



  • Lead all accounting and finance operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close

  • Oversee financial statement preparation and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance

  • Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making

  • Drive integration efforts following merger activity, including process alignment and systems improvements

  • Evaluate and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting structures

  • Lead cash management, banking relationships, and financial planning initiatives

  • Manage and develop accounting team members while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture

  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, sales, and leadership teams to support business growth

  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and implement scalable solutions


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience

  • Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar leadership experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting operations

  • Experience with process improvement, ERP systems, and financial analysis

  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution

  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills

  • Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or a related industry is a plus
