Controller
Salary: $150,000–$180,000 annually
Location: Ogden-Clearfield Metropolitan Area, UT (Hybrid)

NOW CFO, established in 2005, is a "roll-up our sleeves" full-service consulting firm with a singular focus on outsourced CFO, Controller, accounting, and finance needs. Our employees are skilled professionals who fix the accounting and finance problems all companies face.

We are seeking a full-time Controller with manufacturing experience to become a permanent member of our Northern Utah team! This role requires 5+ years of progressive accounting experience and will be responsible for leading group financial reporting, accounting operations, and consolidation work across multiple entities for our manufacturing client base.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead group financial reporting, including consolidation of financial statements across multiple entities (GAAP/IFRS compliance)
  • Manage intercompany and related party transaction accounting
  • Oversee AR/AP shared services team, ensuring efficient and accurate operations
  • Lead COGS, inventory analysis, and cost accounting across plant facilities
  • Manage cycle counts, physical inventory reviews, and the excess & obsolete inventory process
  • Develop and maintain cost of finished goods and production components within the ERP system
  • Manage income tax filings across all entities
  • Coordinate annual audits, including physical counts and preparation of COGS, inventory, and fixed asset schedules
  • Establish, document, and improve accounting policies, internal controls, and processes
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on accounting-related issues, especially around inventory and purchase orders
  • Drive system upgrades, process improvements, and ad-hoc financial analysis
  • Travel periodically to plant facilities to support cycle counts and reviews

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with a large ERP system
  • Agtech system experience a plus
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and develop a team
  • High initiative and the ability to drive processes to the next level
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented approach
