A bit about us:

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of our manufacturing facility in Louisville, KY. This role is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, including financial reporting, cost accounting, audit support, and compliance with GAAP.

The Controller will partner closely with leadership to provide financial insights, manage banking relationships, and ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes. This position also leads a small accounting team and plays a key role in driving operational efficiency within a fast-paced, blue-collar manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP, AR, and invoicing
Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Support external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Handle corporate tax filings and coordinate with external advisors as needed
Maintain and manage banking relationships and cash flow activities
Implement and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures
Utilize and optimize Great Plains accounting software for financial operations
Supervise and develop a team of 5–6 employees (AP Clerk, AR Manager, Staff Accountant, invoicing staff)
Collaborate with operations to support cost accounting and inventory management

Job Details

Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
CPA certification (preferred)
5–10 years of progressive accounting experience
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
Cost accounting experience is a plus
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Experience managing audits and working with external auditors
Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams
Experience with Great Plains accounting software highly preferred
Strong tenure and demonstrated career stability
Ability to work onsite full-time in Louisville, KY
Comfortable working in a hands-on, operational, blue-collar environment
