Job Summary and Qualifications

Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for twenty four hour operations and maintaining proper financial controls to ensure reliable and accurate financial reporting and integrity of financial services and applications by consistently analyzing, evaluating and monitoring procedures, processes and systems.
Formulates and administers general accounting practices in adherence with corporate accounting policy (APG) and internal audit guidelines; interprets data, and prepares financial analyses of operations for the guidance of management.
Ensures delivery of high quality services by maintaining appropriate staffing levels, equipment, resources, competency, physical space, training and education of staff.
Applies the principles of continuous quality improvement in delivery of services, through assessment and monitoring of financial processes and systems.
Ensures compliance with Sarbane-Oxley, JCAHO, legal and all regulatory and accrediting agencies.
Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system and reports trends in occurrences to staff quarterly. This information is used to improve safety. Addresses safety in the Performance Improvement Plan.
Ensures department responds to all service requests in a timely and accurate manner. Willingly assists physicians, patients, and members of the healthcare team as appropriate.
Works collaboratively with external parties, outside agencies, vendors, physicians, and all members of the healthcare team in meeting organizational financial goals.
Supports and recognizes physicians as an important customer.
Actively supports facility community efforts; represents the hospital in the community through participation in community organizations, agencies, speaker bureaus etc.
Provides an overview of hospital departments' operational status by providing financial reports and advice to management team.
Models, fosters, and promotes a Service Excellence culture. Assumes responsibility and accountability for departmental implementation, execution, and practice of service excellence.
Demonstrates responsibility and accountability in managing departmental productivity standards. Monitors organizational PLUS system and makes recommendations. Continuously evaluates and assesses staff assignment, and work process/design to enhance productivity and service delivery to meet stakeholder expectations and business goals.
Actively monitors budget for area and evaluates expenditure on a regular basis. Initiates recommendations to ensure department is operating within budget.
Acts as an expert resource to senior leadership, department managers, physicians, and all members of the healthcare team regarding financial issues, analyzing financial information/data, and identifying strategies to reduce cost, and enhance revenue to support attainment of business goals.
Optimizes use of supplies, equipment, and services ensuring a high level of services. Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care, or the services delivered.
Provides leadership of the Accounting function, services and programs. Ensures the selection, retention and assignment of competent workforce to ensure effective delivery of departmental services. Demonstrates accountability for maintaining and monitoring utilization of departmental resources, physical space, equipment, standards, policies, and practices.
Manages staff performance through regular review, real time feedback, and performance planning. Ensures performance reviews are conducted on time. Actively coaches and mentors staff.
Provides leadership in effectively managing, facilitating and communicating organizational change. Encourages risk taking; fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Demonstrates accountability and responsibility for orienting new staff to specific job duties with particular focus on safety.
Provides data to the healthcare team for the development of business plans and initiatives related to the strategic goals of the organization.
Demonstrates personal responsibility for professional development. Actively promotes development of self and others through participation in professional organizations, educational opportunities, etc.
Attends in-service presentations, and completes mandatory education week, including but not limited to, infection control, patient safety, quality improvement, MSDS, and OSHA standards (PPE, First Aid and Blood-borne pathogens, Hazard Communications, Emergency Procedures and Job Safety).
Demonstrates and promotes a positive customer service attitude, which encourages quality patient care and enhances the image/reputation of the facility.
Demonstrates and promotes a culture of recognizing diversity and valuing individual strengths.
Personal/professional conduct reinforces Company's values and promotes Code of Conduct. Demonstrates principles of ethics and compliance in her/his daily activities.
The leader meets his/her leadership obligations under the Ethics and Compliance program.

What qualifications you will need:

HCA Florida Osceola Hospital is a 404-bed tertiary care hospital. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and are a Level II Trauma Center. We are a teaching hospital in collaboration with UCF College of Medicine. Our hospital is conveniently and centrally located in the Heart of Kissimmee. We are only minutes from Orlando, St. Cloud, Celebration, and Poinciana. We are committed to enhancing the standard of healthcare by providing services including Emergency Care, Trauma Care, Pediatric ER, Heart & Vascular Institute, and Comprehensive Stroke Center.
