Our esteemed organization is searching for a highly analytical, detail-oriented Controller to oversee our accounting and finance operations. The ideal candidate will be adept at ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations, while providing valuable financial insight to aid in our company's strategic decision-making process. The Controller will have a hands-on role in managing the preparation of financial statements, general ledger (GL) functions, annual budgeting, and cash flow management.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards.
2. Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, program budgets, and actual expenditures.
3. Regularly produce financial reports and statements to track the financial health and stability of the organization.
4. Coordinate, analyze, and report the financial performance to the management team (financial performance, projections, and other special projects as required).
5. Prepare and monitor the annual budget, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
6. Manage the preparation of the company's budget and financial forecasts, reporting any variances.
7. Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective internal controls.
8. Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
9. Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
10. Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of five years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
3. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
5. Proficiency in analyzing financial data and must be able to create accurate reports in a timely manner.
6. Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office suite, with exceptional knowledge of Excel.
7. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial information and complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
9. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
