Description

Kforce's client, a private equity-backed life sciences company in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead accounting and financial operations. Summary: Reporting directly to the CEO, this position will oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, cash management, internal controls, audit activities, and ERP transformation initiatives. The Controller will manage one Staff Accountant and play a key role in strengthening financial processes, improving reporting capabilities, and providing financial insights to executive leadership and private equity stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Prepare accurate financial statements and management reporting packages
  • Maintain general ledger integrity and account reconciliations
  • Oversee inventory accounting, costing, valuation, and related controls
  • Manage cash flow and liquidity planning, including a rolling 13-week cash forecast
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general accounting operations
  • Lead the transition from QuickBooks to NetSuite and drive process improvements
  • Support audit requirements, board reporting, KPI development, and strategic growth initiatives
  • Partner with executive leadership and private equity stakeholders on financial performance and decision-making

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
  • Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager
  • ERP implementation experience, ideally QuickBooks to NetSuite
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency
  • Hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and can effectively partner with executives, investors, auditors, and banking partners
Preferred:
  • Experience within life sciences, biotech, healthcare, manufacturing, or other inventory-based environments preferred
  • Inventory accounting, costing, and inventory control experience strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting private equity-backed organizations preferred

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
